Louth Nursery

The James Street Nursery in Louth is based in a former adult education centre. Recently the Nursery has taken over the whole of the building and at the moment lots of exciting refurbishment is taking place in areas currently not being used by the children, in order to further enhance the facilities on offer. Additional sleep rooms are being created, a 'beautiful powder room' is being created for nappy changing, seperate rooms for older and younger preschool children are being created and much more .....  We encourage parents to view our facilities and see the work in progress and look at our details plans for a very large garden extension project which will create large open areas and also a natural and eco friendly play area.

The existing parts of the nursery were refurbished in July 2010 and remain lovely for the children and the whole site is extremely well equipped with good quality educational play equipment which captivates childrens imagination and interest! The site provides 3 spacious outdoor play areas, all of which are secure; a large outdoor play area with large equipment, a ride-on track, a giant purpose built sandpit and an environmental garden which houses a small sensory garden, vegetable garden and a 'recycling zone'.

The premises are registered with the Local Authority to provide freshly cooked meals on site. We employ a qualified Catering Officer who cooks daily for both nurseries in Louth. The nursery has obtained the "Gold Food and Health Award" from East Lindsey District Council, has achieved two successful years as a Heartbeat Catering Award Winner and has received the highest ratings (currently 5 stars) for each annual ELDC Food Safety inspection that we have had in the last 11 years. 5 stars means that we are rated as 'excellent' in all areas for food safety and hygiene.

James Street - There are currently five playrooms, each with access to toilet facilities and a kitchen area. The first floor of the building is not accessed by the children and comprises of three offices, catering kitchen, laundry room, large staff room and Conference Room/Training Room facilities. In addition there are two portacabins stationed at the rear of the building and each has one main play area with toilets and a kitchenette. There are three fully enclosed outside play areas to the side and rear of the property. Private car parking is available for parents on site. The setting is open from 06:30 to 19:00, five days a week, all year round, with the exception of bank holidays.

The setting also provides after school care, collecting children from both Kidgate and St. Michaels primary schools in Louth. The nursery serves residents of Louth Town as well as the surrounding villages.

14 members of staff work with the children on both a full and part-time basis. 92% of the staff have early years qualifications to NVQ level 3 or above and 2 are in training. 2 Members of staff have level 4 qualifications and 1 member of staff is a graduate in early years and a qualified teacher. The nursery works closely with Lincolnshires Birth to Five Service and is a member of the National Day Nursery Association.

It also holds an 'Investors in People' accreditation and was the Winner of the East Midlands 'Bob The Builder' site renovation award in 2009!
